Lindsay Somers - Member Feature

The Osborne Biz takes a village of people for everything to operate smoothly. Although at the heart of the Osborne Biz is Lindsay Somers, the Executive Director.

Lindsay can be found running with the Lindsay Somers run club, walking around the village visiting the businesses and meeting new people, or sparking a conversation with someone at TableSpace!

Lindsay began her journey with the Osborne Biz a few months ago, however, she's been in communications all her life. She started her career in film, where she attended university for film and theater. As her career began to take off, Lindsay saw herself getting more into communications in various places, including the Exchange District Biz and with the City of Winnipeg. At the heart of Lindsay's career, she has always loved building communities, allowing people to feel like they have a home while telling a story, whether through people, cities, or anything!

As the Executive Director with Osborne Biz, Lindsay isn't new to the village. Lindsay has lived in Osborne for 20 years and has fallen in love with the Osborne community daily. With the Osborne Biz now in her hands, she wants to make this community something more than what it is now. Her goal is to take Osborne Biz's richness and build an identity to it.

If you're someone new to Winnipeg or haven't visited Osborne Village in a long time, Lindsay best describes this community as the opportunity to harness the collective strength, utilizing what Osborne has in one neighborhood and bringing businesses together to be stronger.

Unlike anything else in Winnipeg, Osborne Village is different in its own right. As Lindsay discusses in our interview with her, Osborne is unique in supporting locals, having the ability to have a complete experience in one place, and the variety of services that Osborne Village has!

After being at TableSpace for a few months now, Lindsay describes TableSpace as a place where you feel inspired, a place to make meaningful connections, and the ability to go for a walk to other businesses close by on your lunch break!
