Why you Should be Doing a Mid-Year Audit

Wow, can you believe we’re already halfway through the year? As summer approaches, it’s the perfect time to kick back and relax a bit, but it’s also a great moment to check in on your progress. Instead of waiting until year-end to review your goals, why not do a half-year audit? This way, you can see how you’re doing, make adjustments if needed, and set yourself up for success in the next six months.

Your Half-Year Audit

Remember those goals you set at the beginning of the year? If you wrote them down, now’s the time to dig them out and have a look. If you didn’t, no worries—now is a great time to jot them down. Seeing your goals in writing helps you focus and plan better.

With your goals in front of you, start by noting what you’ve already achieved. Take a moment to really reflect on each completed goal:

  • How has achieving this goal changed my life?

  • What sacrifices did I make, and were they worth it?

  • What lessons did I learn along the way?

  • How have I grown in the process?

  • Who helped me achieve this, and how?

  • Did I support others in the process?

Celebrate Your Wins

Before moving on, make sure to celebrate every single win—big or small! It’s easy to tick something off the list and move on, but celebrating your successes can be incredibly motivating. Whether it’s treating yourself to some quiet time with your favorite book, buying something special, or even planning a little getaway, find ways to honor your achievements.

Finish the Year on Track

Next, take a look at the goals you still want to achieve by year-end. Ask yourself honestly if these goals still align with where you want to be:

  • Do they still fit with your year-end vision?

  • Do any goals need fine-tuning?

  • Are there new goals to add?

A powerful question to consider is, “If I keep doing what I’m doing now, how will my year end?” Answering this honestly can shift your perspective and motivate you to make any necessary changes. Think about what you need to accelerate your progress:

  • Do you need to break down your goals into smaller steps?

  • Could an assistant help with tasks that drain your time?

  • Would a childminder give you more focus time or relaxation?

  • Do you need a community for support and connection? If yes, you should check out our membership options and join our community of entrepreneurs.

Getting clear on what you need at this point in the year, and putting those things in place now, will help you finish strong. By year-end, you’ll feel a tremendous sense of accomplishment with your goals achieved.
