Turning her Side Hustle into a Full-Time Job

Turning your side hustle into a full-time gig is something many entrepreneurs aspire to do and Bryna Thorinn has done just that and is now helping others do the same.
In 2019, she and a friend started a social media management and content creation company, she was a boudoir and empowerment photographer and was a sales rep for a bigger company.
“In 2020 I decided to leave the businesses and focus on my photography full-time. I took some courses to learn how to use Instagram effectively and I really saw that take off and grow.”
Other photographers were reaching out to Bryna asking for her insight into how she found success marketing herself on Instagram, “I was meeting with so many people and giving them all my advice and I realized that this was something I could be paid for so I decided to set up a course to share everything I know about marketing and selling on Instagram.”
Pairing both her business of photography and Instagram sales into one account was a challenge because of how different they are. “I knew I couldn’t just make a switch on my account from my boudoir and empowerment photos to just being ‘business Bryna’, I found that you really just have to show up as your full and true authentic self and that’s what I do on my page.”
Bryna has been connected to TableSpace from the very beginning. “I met Andrea and Rachel when I was in working in my social media management business and I did some content creation for them when TableSpace was first starting.” She even helped paint the beautiful walls we see today!
Leaving a full-time job to pursue what you’re truly passionate about can be scary but Bryna’s ‘why’ is what inspired her to take the leap, “I feel I’m able to see potential in people, when you confide in me and tell me how you want to grow I want to be the person who uplifts you and takes you there. Through photography and Instagram sales, I get to do that and see people succeed in things they never thought they could do.”
Community plays a vital role at TableSpace in bringing people together and for Bryna community has played a huge role in building her business to where it is today.
“Through being an entrepreneur it’s been a great learning experience for me to see how important community support is and how much farther it can get you.”
For other entrepreneurs who can see the reality of turning their side hustle into a full-time job, taking it one step at a time is the best thing you can do, “It’s great that you can see the whole staircase but let’s break it down and make it really achievable and you will get there.”
